5 "Must-Knows"

with the Code of Practice on managing psychosocial hazards at work

For Regional Business Owners, Workplace Leaders

and Farm Owners —
Without The Legal Jargon!

Making the people and emotional side of work simpler for regional business owners, leaders, and managers to understand — and easier to lead well.

Jess from Attuned Co. helps leaders, teams, and workplaces recognise the hidden patterns shaping behaviour, pressure, culture, and psychological safety — taking some of the weight off leaders who know they need to act, but are not always sure what to look for or where to start.

Through workplace diagnostics, behavioural insight, and a practical psychosocial lens, Attuned Co. simplifies the people side of work, helping leaders better understand what is happening beneath the surface, approach their obligations with more ease, and recalibrate what matters: trusted leadership, psychologically safe teams, and workplaces where people stay longer, care more, and bring their best.

Start with a clearer read.

Most business owners and leaders are highly capable on the operational side of work. They know the industry, the systems, and what needs to get done. But the people side of work — how pressure lands, how trust is shaped, and what quietly affects communication, behaviour, and team function — is a different skill set, and one many have never been formally taught.

That is where the Regional Culture Index (RCI) comes in.

RCI is a structured workplace diagnostic designed to help leaders get a clearer read on psychosocial hazards, pressure points, team experience, and the patterns shaping culture beneath the surface. It is not a generic staff survey. It is a practical starting point that helps businesses work from real input rather than assumptions.

Attuned Co. offers three versions of the RCI:

RCI Workplace Teams for businesses and workplaces across industries

RCI Primary Production & Pastoral for farming, pastoral, and primary production operations

RCI Hospitality for pubs, cafés, hotels, and restaurants

Each version uses the same core framework, adapted to the language and realities of the environment it is designed for.

How people feel at work shapes how they behave at work.

Not every workplace issue starts as a formal complaint or obvious crisis. More often, it begins in the quieter patterns beneath the surface — pressure, communication breakdowns, tension, low trust, people going quiet, leaders carrying too much, or teams slowly losing their sense of connection and care.

This is why the psychosocial lens matters.

It is not about giving people a platform to whinge, and it is not about exposing leaders. It is about getting a more honest read on what is happening in the work environment, so businesses can identify gaps, address pressure earlier, and create healthier ways of leading and working.

When those patterns are understood, better outcomes become possible: clearer communication, stronger leadership, healthier team function, and workplaces people actually want to stay in.

No pressure. Just a conversation about what’s happening in your leadership, team, or workplace.

What sits beneath the surface, matters.

How a workplace feels,
shapes how a team functions.

Not every workplace issue starts as a formal complaint or obvious crisis. More often, it begins in the quieter patterns beneath the surface — pressure, communication breakdowns, tension, low trust, people going quiet, and leaders carrying more than they were ever taught to hold.

This is where the psychosocial lens matters. It helps workplaces get a clearer read on what may be shaping harm, dysfunction, or underperformance before those patterns become more costly.

At its best, this work is not just about reducing psychosocial risk. It is about creating the conditions for healthier leadership, stronger team function, and workplaces people want to stay in.

Services — How We Can Work Together

I specialise in helping leaders see what is shaping behaviour and how culture is being experienced across their team — then giving them practical ways to respond.

Workplaces are now expected to actively identify and manage psychosocial risk, and in South Australia that expectation is reinforced through the current Code of Practice. For leaders, what is usually missing is not awareness that this matters, but a clear and workable path for what to actually do next. I help move that work beyond paperwork and policy language into practical action that changes how a team functions. I also support leaders and managers to strengthen their own capacity — helping them lead, communicate, and respond more effectively in the people side of work, without blame, overwhelm, or guesswork.

"Decoding The People Side Of Workplace Safety"

I offer a practical, a relatable talk that brings the psychosocial lens into the room — in language that actually lands for rural and regional audiences.

Leaders are now expected and obligated to manage a part of workplace risk most business owners, leaders and managers were never trained to spot. This talk strips away the compliance language and makes psychosocial safety practical — helping leaders understand what it really means, where it shows up in everyday team dynamics, and what early warning signs to look for before problems escalate.

Need more information? Not sure where to start?
The best first step is always a conversation.

Let's talk about what's happening in your leadership, your team, or your workplace — and find the right place to start.

Hi, I'm Jess. I work on the human side of your business.

I work on the human side of business and WHS — the communication breakdowns, culture challenges, leadership gaps, and invisible pressures that do not always show up on a checklist, but show up everywhere else. In sick days. In resignations. In tension that nobody talks about — but everybody feels.

After years working across the rural sector in mining, agronomy, fencing contracting, beef properties, and sales, one thing became clear to me: the quality of our experience at work is deeply shaped by the health of the relationships around us. By how leadership shows up. By whether people feel heard, valued, supported, and emotionally safe enough to be human at work.

When I stepped into business ownership myself, I saw it from the other side too. The more grounded, clear, and emotionally steady I felt within myself, the better I led — and the better I felt in life. That insight sits at the heart of everything I do.

Today, I help leaders, teams, and workplaces in regional Australia make the invisible visible — the patterns, pressures, emotional undercurrents, and workplace dynamics shaping how people behave, communicate, and work together. I work well alongside leaders and, where relevant, HR, to support the people side of leadership, culture, and development in a practical, grounded way.
