Jess Keenan
Hi, I'm Jess. I have worked across some demanding industries — agronomy, beef production, mining, rural contracting, and direct sales.
In 2017, I founded Leading Change Experiences a service-baed business combining my passion for leadership development, human behaviour, and horse-led learning. Over the years, the work has evolved — deepening into the emotional and relational patterns that drive how people lead, communicate, relate, and perform at work, and in life.
In 2026, I rebranded to Attuned Co. — a name that better reflects where the work has grown. Less about a single experience, more about a holistic approach: developing people, leaders and teams who are genuinely attuned to themselves, to each other, and to the culture they're part of.
The horses are still here. The methodology is deeper. And my focus is on helping rural and regional workplaces build the kind of culture that holds up when things get hard — one that manages people dynamics well, and takes the psychological health and wellbeing of its people as seriously as any other business risk.
Since founding the business, I have worked with over 800 individuals across leadership, behavioural, and interpersonal development — from corporate executives to small business owners and leaders across regional Australia.
My toolkit is practical and credentialled. I bring together Equine Assisted Learning, Extended DISC behavioural profiling, Emotional Culture Deck facilitation, Emotional Fitness practitioner training and Life Coaching — a combination that lets me work at the level of both the individual and the whole team or business.
When leaders and teams develop acute awareness of their patterns — how they respond, relate, and communicate under pressure — everything else shifts. Performance improves. Relationships strengthen. And "culture" is the outcome. It becomes something you either build intentionally, with a level of consciousness... or it's something that exists, by default.
I work beneath the surface — helping leaders and teams understand what's actually driving the symptoms of dynamics in their workplace, and giving them the tools to change it. My recent business enhancement is the development of the Rural Culture Index (a survey tool for regional workplaces) and the development of my signature rural workplace program Culture Shift.
Outside of Attuned Co, my partner Scott and I operate Xmas Rocks Venue, a boutique on-farm training, event and function facility. I am a mum to three girls and live a full, busy life. I have navigated a number of challenging chapters, and those experiences have shaped me into a facilitator, a human, who is raw, real, relatable — who self practices the principles of continuously building my leadership capacity, emotional regulation skills (observing and managing emotional triggers), behavioural flexibility, accountability, human-ness and emotional fitness.
There is no judgement here. I meet people where they're at — with honesty, understanding, and a genuine philosophy around our journey of being human. That's what allows me to connect with leaders and teams in a way that's grounded and genuinely useful.
I have a love for holistic and regenerative agriculture, horses, human behaviour, personal growth, the mountains, the bush, quantum physics and I am passionate about people and their life journeys.
Our on-farm venue in SA's South East offers a unique space that hosts Attuned Co. programs and serves as a versatile offsite facility for training and networking functions and events, for professionals, community members and business teams (and rural weddings!).
I also have a partner-facility at Strathalbyn, which makes my programs and workshops accessible for Adelaide (and surrounds) leaders and teams. The Strathalbyn property includes the horses; an all-weather facility; along with a board room for the theory portion of our experiential workshops.
My work through Attuned Co. is built on one purposeful belief: when people understand themselves and each other better, businesses and relationships function better.
It sounds simple — yet its impact is profound.
I believe effective, grounded, attuned leadership is not simply an innate trait, but a combination of skills, beliefs, philosophies, and competencies that can be cultivated through focused effort, guidance, experience, and practice. The foundation of leadership is self-awareness.
Choosing to refine our attitude and act with greater intention is part of what shapes grounded, human leadership. Leaders can learn to lead others with greater clarity, composure, and emotional maturity, while building and maintaining trust and respect over time.
In business, performance is often measured through traditional metrics such as KPIs, productivity, or financial results. But what about the less visible human factors that influence those outcomes? This is where our work with horses offers a unique lens. Horses respond to human behaviour with honesty and immediacy, reflecting patterns in leadership presence, communication, emotional steadiness, and relational dynamics in real time.
These human factors shape how well people connect, lead, collaborate, and respond under pressure — and they are often overlooked in traditional performance measures.
Horse-led development creates a powerful opportunity to bring those patterns into view and work with them in a practical, embodied way.
Leadership starts within. Performance is human. Culture is felt.
Research shows that experiential learning can increase knowledge retention by up to 75% and enhances leadership capacity significantly. By working with horses, teams experience an awareness transformation. The horse-led experiences have the capacity to change belief systems, perspectives and behaviours, leading to improved happiness, connection, acceptance, understanding, interpersonal skills, and collaboration.
Let’s work together to build more adaptable, happy, calm and attuned leaders and employees, and more connected, trusting and aligned teams.
